Iron ore slide hits small property investors

If one holds property indefinitely, it is only value of the property is only the book value. Profit is made if the property is sold. The current property market is completely out of whack, and many people buying properties during low interest rate are prone to default when the rate increases.

One must not forget that there are ongoing rates and charges, opportunity loss on better class of investment, maintenance costs, etc. Past recessions did send many property owners on tail spin.

Hang on a minute. Why were those sad moments posted in FB in the first place, and not deleted subsequently, if users don't want to be reminded? Users publicise the events themselves, and FB is doing a great service to provide a free platform for those ungrateful people to broadcast them.

If those whiners blame FB to be insensitive, they can just delete their account and all the posts including such promotion will not appear anymore.

This guideline should not just apply to schools, but also extend to higher education, such as colleges, TAFEs and universities. In fact, getting too close with students in person can present just as much, if not more, problems as with social networking media.

I am still keeping in touch via FB with a few of my former students, who live in Australia and various countries in the world. Interestingly, some still treat me as their teacher instead of their friend, and ask for different sorts of advice.

Is email dead? Under 25s abandoning 'cumbersome' mode of communication for social networking sites

There may be 1.5 million people signing up as new users, but there could be more than 1.5 million just become dormant, inactive or dead. Many users register to Facebook due to peer pressure, but never interact after the process. Many could not be bothered anymore after the initial fad is over.

Not unlike air travel, its popularity does not spell the end of shipping – ships are still being used for cruises and heavy cargo transport, Facebook will not spell the end of email, which will still have a place in many organisations where business communication rather than social networking is the primary concern.

Council staff hard at work - on Facebook: How employees use site more than any other

Misusing or stealing an organisation’s resource is an offence which SHOULD lead to the dismissal of the culprit. Spending excessive hours on Facebook, in short, is misusing or stealing the Council’s time, the most valuable resource in any organisation. These staff should be dismissed without any hesitation.
