Biden will not win this unlosable election. Trump is a fantastic marketer, and he understands the psychological needs of his followers, while Biden keeps missing the opportunities to hit hard on the key issues.

Trump has a good chance to win, and he will make himself the peace maker after the election. He has to rely on China for supplies, as well as a customer. Out of the blue, bilateral relationship will improve, and he will come out the winner not only in the US, but also the world. Along the way, Trump will leave a trail of economic disaster for the blind followers.

Australia, the lap dog of the US will be the biggest loser, and most of our key exports will be replaced by the US’ and other countries’. There will be plenty of barley to feed our stomachs and enough wine to drown our sorrow.

Thank you for reading.

@Andrew Smith, you're quite correct to point out about international students market. In fact, I've written many articles about this AUD18.8 billion industry (when at its peak), second largest "export income" after the mining industry.

When the government policies brought in so abruptly, billions of dollars were wiped out, even if a third to quarter is gone, that will equate to AUD6.1b to AUD4.7b, good enough to achieve budget surplus without hurting the taxpaying public.

Will the students swamp the colleges again? I doubt so. UK, USA and Canada have been attracting the students with more favourable Visa and after-graduation-stay conditions than Australia.

Many private colleges and TAFE could not survive such disastrous downturn, and became history. Dragged down by this collapse are many teaching staff, mainly sessional teachers, who are the baby boomers. Reduced income implies reduced investment in property or stock market.

Australia is not an isolated island in the global market. Our success attracted many vultures who wanted a slice of the action. Our government should learn a lesson not to introduce policies on the run!

"US housing starts and building permits jumped to a 1-1/2 year high in November as demand for rental apartments rose."

Excuse me, Sir, can you tell me who is investing in the building construction? Is it similar to Australia, in particular Sydney, which the Asians are pouring in the money?

Does demand of rental apartments mean tenants looking for rental apartments, or investors looking to buy rental apartments? What's the vacancy rate in apartments at present?

"It will still take two to three years to work off the excess inventory ..."

Why do people keep building more apartments when there is excess inventory not cleared?

Oh, Sir, do people still believe in Stock fundamentals? Are people getting too gullible believing in just one set of rather ambiguous data?

I'm definitely NOT sympathetic towards any terrorists or anyone who takes human lives cold-bloodedly. The way the mission was conducted was a violation of Pakistan’s sovereign right. If that could take place in Pakistan, it can happen to any other country in the future. It defeats the purpose of having national constitution, law and order.
