Tony Abbott to kill off Parliament House burqa ban

Our politicians are weak like puss. By allowing the wearing the de facto Batman outfit in the Parliament House is going to set precedence for people to wear the same going to the bank, casino or any establishment. By the way, Batman does not cover his mouth and jaw.

I shall be scared out of my wit if the supposedly meter reader or postman come near my house clothed in such daunting "uniform".

Helmet is not allowed to be worn in many places. Why should wearing such outfit an exception? How can the bank or casino be so discriminatory to ask the bikies to take off their helmet so that the CCTV can have a clear view of their faces?

Organisation installing biometric system will be throwing good money down the drain. It must be the most unthinkable and laughable situation having someone with the whole body except the eyes covered, standing in front of the self-checking machine at the immigration control at the airport.

There must be some basic dress code when one is at public places. That dress code must be enforced. If fully clothed is permitted, the opposite should be given the same treatment.

Let's go nude in the Parliament House! Like Winston Churchill once said, "we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender".

Right has twigged that Abbott may be on shaky ground

Only if Tony Abbott was more specific with his policies, he could still win brownie points even Julia Gillard or Kevin Rudd copied his ideas, because he originated them. Undoubtedly, anyone can copy an idea which has not been copyrighted.

The asylum seekers or boat people problems cannot be solved by transferring them to another island. The only way is to stop them from leaving the source. If they have entered the Australian water, they need to be expelled by whatever means possible. Asylum seekers, by boat or plane without a legal visa should not be granted asylum.

For those who have reached the shore on whatever designated place, not only they have to be detained in isolation, but also work for their livelihood. There is a twist here though. They have to learn to improve the living condition using their skills such as maintaining the dwelling and surrounding, growing food, teaching, sewing, security, etc.

These detained people are not animals in a zoo. Many have talents that can be tapped, while others have strengths to work on the land or construction. Locking them up is purposeless and waste of taxpayers' money. They will eventually become inapt physically and mentally. When the scale is tipped over like the recent event, they lashed out and revealed their destructive behaviour causing untold cost to property and morale.

In regards to creating employment, no one has ever identify what specific areas or industries can offer employment the willing workers. Paper qualification, encouraged by Paul Keating, helps create the smart dough queue. What most people fail to realise is that Australia do not have the many high end industries to absorb all the university graduates. In the meantime, ordinary Australians keep paying high price to tradespeople, and worse still, the unqualified fly-by-nighters to build houses or fix up problems around the house.

Kevin Rudd leads Tony Abbott as better prime minister, latest Newspoll reveals

Sympathy does not necessarily translate to winning an election, but Kevin Rudd may make it.

Kevin Rudd dumped by Julia Gillard in a rather dramatic and ungraceful manner was viewed by many that Kevin Rudd was a victim, and treated his return to the prime ministership as something deserving.

For the past month, Kelvin Rudd has proven to be a good publicist, marketer, opportunist but a rather sore and resentful loser, lack the support of his former experienced peer in the caucus, who chose to resign rather than to sit in the same parliamentary chamber with him.

He is really good in saying sorry, but the word is far from meaningful if things just go wrong one after another. One sorry he will never have a chance to say is that the financial ruin the Labor government under him and former PM Julia Gillard that have dug.

Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd have no concept of financial management. The social reform policies have long term repercussion on a dwindling pool of taxpayers.

Tony Abbott needs to ask himself is, "Why am I not as likeable as Kevin Rudd?" Unless he rectifies all his negatives, a hung parliament may be the best case scenario in this election.

Wanted: a visionary to plug the leadership

I called 4 real estate agents to appraise a house, and only young representative impressed me very much. The house was a rental property, dated with telltale sign of mission brown door frame and skirting. However, he did not see all these as the downside. He was very enthusiastic, saw the potential, talked about the positives and explained how he would market the house.

Whether he could sell the house eventually is secondary, but he excited me by giving me hope that the house could be sold at the current depressive market. He never put any other real estate agents down; in fact throughout the whole appraisal process he concentrated his energy in the house only.

Julia Gillard and Tony Abbott are worse than lack lustre and lack vision; they lack the enthusiasm and salesmanship to put ideas across. They lack the important rapport called honesty and trust. Their views are superficial and mainly party line driven.

Julia Gillard is like a little spoilt brat; she wants her way to get the carbon tax bill passed, miscalculates the Malaysian solution and refuses to impose GST on online imports less than AUD1000; despite the public outcry, the risk of wiping out most of the small businesses which employed bulk of the working population and torment the already heavily debt-ridden farmers who are the guardians of the Australian food bowls.

Tony Abbott has to work on his body language. However, body language is a reflection of what he is within. It would be better if Tony Abbott could come up with something more positive in revitalising the manufacturing industries or any industry for that matter.

On many occasions, political parties use negative campaign to scare voters on their choice, but time and again the tactic failed. Polls after polls people of Australia have spoken that they want a strong a leader, a leader that leads and not to kowtow to foreign powers; a leader to give us hope, create job opportunity for present and younger generation and drive Australia economy further.

China was a third world country perceived to have nothing to live for during early Mao’s time. Australia was a lucky country according to Donald Horne then. Now China has the largest airport, fastest train, tallest building, rocket, space station, factories that building hi-tech computers and electronic, factory of the world, etc. What do we have in Australia – primary producing industries that cannot absorb all the so called smart Australians having university degrees? Can Julia Gillard or Tony Abbott do anything to move Australia forward?

Four Corners has Labor sides on edge

The strategy Liberal Party needs to adopt now is to "Conquer and Divide". Each Labor MP can serve only one master, either Julia Gillard or Kevin Rudd, and therefore, for each supporting group, the number of MPs is less than the total number of Liberal MPs working as a team.

If any Liberal MP is stupid enough to start infighting now, they should be sent to Christmas Island and never to be released! Liberal's infighting will cost the party missing the boat to win the next election, presumably an early one.

For the Liberal's leader, too much negativity can lead to voters' revolt. Prove to me why I should vote for the Party if I perceive the Party is nothing more than just a bunch of sour grapes, and cannot think of anything positive to say, such as how the Party can bring employment and prosperity back.

Unemployment and trade deficits are not just numbers. They represent jobs that bring home the bacon. They are the roots of many family breakup, depression, and other human sufferings.

Tony Abbott's Try-A-Thon

Will the future Prime Minister of Australia stand up, please?

No one is trying harder than Tony Abbott at present to get the top job; he is determined to get it.

It is better for someone to declare his position, his vision no matter how unpalatable it is for the audience, than a little mouse who pussies around!

We don't really know how good or bad Tony Abbott will be until he gets there. Isn't it true for Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard, too? They had big ambitions that caused more hardship, made promises not kept and spent money on projects that lined the pocket of the unscrupulous!

I always believe that those who sit all day will remain at the(ir) bottom(s)!

Things could get bloody if Abbott abandoned carbon oath

If there is no carbon tax, there won't be any extra work for rebates or financial assistance, which means no additional bungle, new departments and fat cats, less government spending on stationary, furniture, ombudsman, just plain boring.

With carbon tax, there will be more discussions and complaints on radio, ABC 7.30 Report or QandA, newspapers, letters to newspaper editors; cost more to produce goods and services, less competitive, less export income, less jobs, less disposal income, less overall tax revenue, less funds for services, less affordable to live in Australia, but we may lead the next global financial crisis!

This is not a good way to show the world that we are the leading twits!

Malcolm Turnbull admits that he still wants to lead the Coalition

This is a political suicide for Malcolm Turnbull for the so-called telling the truth. The truth is in the Australia political system, if the major Party cannot win an election, that Party will not be able to form the Government on its own, or like the Labor, will have to suck up to the Greens in order to get things done.

Voters are looking for and looking up to a strong united and cohesive party, whether as the government or opposition. Turnbull's arrogance will backfire and may cause Liberal's chance to win the next election. Tony Abbott is riding high at the moment, especially on carbon tax issue. If Malcolm Turnbull can keep his trap shut for the time being, despite his different stance, Liberal can win government rather comfortably the next round, probably in sooner than 2 years according to my prediction.

If he continues to behave like a spoilt brat, Tony Abbott will have no choice but to dump him from the Shadow Ministry in the name of party sustainability.

Labor carbon policies are impractical and will turn Australia into one of the most expensive and unaffordable country to live in. It is pointless to have the cleanest planet if no one can enjoy it, or afford to enjoy it!

Tony Abbott keeps Liberals ahead of Labor

Well done, Tony for your effort. Carbon tax is NOT a goer, and you are right to campaign against it. Carbon tax does not solve global warming, because the sun energy will continue to heat up our planet with the introduction of carbon tax. However, your approach in burying the carbon dioxide is not a good idea, too. When carbon dioxide is formed, one carbon atom combines with two oxygen atoms. This is analogous to oxygen depletion. Locking up the carbon dioxide also means locking up oxygen.

I have better alternatives. One is grow more carbohydrate (polysaccharides) which can be used as carbon sink as well as food for millions of hungry people in the world when harvested. Large carbon emitters and the greenies will not object such proposal, and in fact the former will be seen as environmental friendly global citizens. It also makes their triple bottom line look good.

The second alternative is to dehumidify moisture in the atmosphere. Water vapour is a bigger greenhouse culprit, worse than carbon dioxide. Atmospheric dehumidification may one day become just as popular as collection of rain water.
